Sleep difficulties can affect far more than how tired someone feels. They can influence mood, concentration, energy, physical wellbeing and the way a person functions throughout the day, while worry about sleep itself can become part of the cycle that keeps the problem going. Effective therapeutic work therefore needs to go beyond simply helping someone relax at bedtime, recognising the different psychological, behavioural and physiological factors that can contribute to disrupted sleep.
HypnoSomnia explores a broader, evidence-informed approach to using hypnotherapy for insomnia and sleep difficulties, drawing on our growing understanding of sleep, arousal, behaviour and the mind–body relationship. You'll develop practical ways to work with the patterns that can interfere with healthy sleep, while adapting your approach to the individual client and helping them develop a more positive and sustainable relationship with sleep.
